To transplant Oregon checkermallow, choose a sunny to partly shaded site with moist, well-drained soil. Plant in early spring or fall when conditions are cool and the soil is naturally moist. Dig a hole just deep enough to cover the root ball, then water thoroughly to settle the plant in. Mulch lightly to retain moisture, but avoid covering the crown.
