One-spike oatgrass is a small, tufted native bunchgrass well adapted to the dry meadows and rocky outcrops of the BC interior. Growing in tidy, low clumps, it’s highly drought tolerant once established and asks very little of the gardener. As part of a native grassland community, it helps stabilize thin, rocky soils and provides structure and cover for insects and small wildlife. A good low-maintenance choice for a dry meadow or rock garden planting.
