Streambank globe-mallow (also called mountain hollyhock) is a tall, showy perennial that can reach 1-2 m, with maple-like leaves and open, hollyhock-style flowers in shades of pink to white through summer. True to its name, it’s often found along streambanks and in moist disturbed sites, including areas recovering from fire or flooding. Its large, nectar-rich flowers are a magnet for bumblebees and other pollinators, and its height and bold flowers make it a striking backdrop plant for a moist, sunny border.
