Rosy Pussytoes will thrive as a groundcover if you put it in the right spot:
Sun: Full, direct sun is essential. It needs at least 6-8 hours of sunlight to stay dense and healthy. It will become sparse and weak in the shade.
Soil: It must have excellent drainage. It thrives in sandy, gravelly, or rocky soil and is a perfect choice for slopes. It will quickly rot and die in heavy clay soil or areas that stay wet, especially over the winter. Do not amend the soil with rich compost.
Water: It has very low water needs. It is extremely drought-tolerant once established and is a perfect plant for xeriscaping. Water it regularly the first season to get it started, then you can largely ignore it.
