Public Event: way̓ ʔítx̌ʷaʔ (Hello Camas, pronounced “why eat-hwa”)
An afternoon camas celebration hosted by the Kootenay Native Plant Society. At this event, there will be activities for everyone, information and giveaways, face-painting and an arts table, and guided walks to learn more about camas plants and bees.
Presenters: Bren (KinSeed Ecologies) will be leading walks on the cultural and ecologial importance of camas plants and Valerie (KinSeed Ecologies, Native Bee Society of BC) will be providing people with information about the many bees that visit and rely on camas.
