Nature Festival Event:  From the Ground Up: Rebuilding Connections at a Constructed Dike at Bummers Flats

Efforts to ecologically enhance a 500 m long dike located in the southern portion of the Bummers Flats Conservation Complex located between Wasa and Fort Steele in the East Kootenay will be presented.  Bren will describe how she, and her partner Valerie Huff, are exploring how best to transform a constructed arid landscape into a thriving pollinator meadow, rebuilding foundational relationships of native plants and their pollinating insects.
